November 6, 2006 Masterpiece Seatpost Riders Take Note
When installing a saddle on a Masterpiece seatpost please note the following. Use no grease on the bolt head or washer that secure the saddle clamps. Torque to a maximum of 45 inch pounds (5.1Nm) Degrease under bolt head and both sides of washer. Failure to follow these directions may cause damage to your Masterpiece post.
November 21, 2007 Notes on Torque
Our instructions for both our stems and seatposts call for grease only on the threads of the bolts. Greasing under the heads of the bolt is not needed and can greatly change the amount of force generated by the bolt at our recommended torque, this can lead to premature failure of your components. With all Thomson products please take special care to grease only the threads of the bolt and use a torque wrench. Doing these things prolongs component life and gives you a better margin of safety while riding.
August 7, 2008 Sponsorship
We get lots of requests for sponsorship. A few things to consider before mailing your request. We are primarily interested in teams made up of athletes under 18 (Juniors) or over 18 but under 23 years of age (U23). It is important that a significant number of riders on the team have attended a USA Cycling regional development camp. It is our goal to support teams who are trying to develop riders for the future of the sport. It is our belief that results at USA Cycling's camps are key to making the leap to racing at the highest levels.
